La fin(alité) de la poésie. Considerations sur la lyrique brésilienne contemporaine

This essay investigates the notion and place ofthe "lyrical" in contemporary culture and, in particular, in tweentieth century Brazilian literature. It is precisely since the 1920s that the status and form of poetry have started to be questioned -- a process that, after cutting across modernist poetry, has led to experimentalism and concrete poetry. The aim of such revision of contemporary poetic writing is to work out a critical reflection on "the end of poem", as a moment of both dissolution and origin of a new way of understanding the relationship amon verse, prose and image.
